Objectives of Brussels Talks are to bring you fresh interviews on up to date topics with prominent figures across Brussels mainly on justice, democracy, the rule of law and human rights issues on Turkey.

We hope you will enjoy Brussels Talks which aim to open quality debates on the development and consolidation of  democracy and the rule of law, and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in the recent crackdown atmosphere in Turkey.

Fernando joined PPJ in December 2017. He holds a B.A. in Law and a B.A in Political Science from Pablo de Olavide University, Spain. He is currently finishing a Masters on International Conflicts and Security with secondary specialization on International Migration at the University of Kent, Brussels School of International Studies.

His focus is on the role of crime and law enforcement operations in the context of conflict scenarios. He also has an academic interest in the effects of Rule of Law and border management on migrants and minorities.

Before joining PPJ, Fernando has had experience working on European and Latin American affairs. He interned at UNODC Panama part of a regional anti-human trafficking project, with a special focus on capacity building initiatives for national law enforcement agencies and civil society. He also served as a member of the Spanish delegation to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, where he become familiarized with matters of Rule of Law and protection of fundamental rights in the European Space.
